Accommodations

“Basecamp” with the Outfitters Cabins is located near the confluence of Boulder Creek and the Lochsa River just off of the Highway 12 Northwest Passage Scenic Byway at Wilderness Gateway Campground. Three dry cabins are furnished with wood burning stoves and beds with linens to accommodate 6-10 people each. The bunkhouse, typically used to house camp hands, is equipped with a wood stove and two separate rooms on either side of the foyer making the flush toilet and shower accessible to all camp guests. With commercial appliances and propane refrigeration, two full bathrooms with flush toilets and showers, laundry service, and a welcoming living area, the cookhouse is the hub of basecamp activities. The amenities at Basecamp also includes space for outdoor meal preparation, a firepit, outhouse, ample parking, barn and coral with hitching rails and catch pens.

For those seeking a more rugged and remote experience Drop Camps may be erected seasonally in designated areas 10-25 miles away from basecamp. Canvas wall tents will be equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Wood burning warming stoves, gas cookstoves, pots,  pans, utensils, tables, chairs, and cots are provided. Guests are responsible for supplying bedding, clothing, food, and beverages unless pre-arranged for fully guided excursions.
